Our Story
Herman J. Schmitz established Cement Products, Inc. in 1916. We are now in the fourth generation of our family-owned business centrally located in Mansfield, Ohio. Owners, Dave (retired), Doug (retired), Dwight, and Dan Schmitz took over in 1987 from their father, Francis J. Schmitz.
In 1999, Cement Products, Inc. entered the concrete business offering ready-mix concrete to both residential and commercial customers. At that time, we were among the first ready-mix company to introduce front discharged trucks to the Richland, Ashland, Morrow, Crawford, Knox counties.
In 2006, Cement Products, Inc. began manufacturing retaining wall, becoming Ohio's only licensed manufacturer of CornerStone Wall Solutions Inc.
In 2010, Cement Products, Inc. introduced recycled material into the manufacturing process in order to meet the growing demands of LEED requirements.
Today, we continue to be the areas only local producer to offer 100% Front-discharged trucks. Our state-of-the-art computerized batch plant enables us to consistently produce quality concrete.
